..so I sat down and cast up a few 188 grain cast HP's for my 3" S&W 696 .44 Special. Sized .429" and loaded over 8.7 grains of Unique, these cast HPs generate 1035 fps at standard pressures, and will put 5 rounds into about 2" at 50 feet. Not bad for a snubby....

What does that HP look like after hitting wet clay or water filled jug?

180 grain HP at 1035 fps ought to do what needs doing.

My 3" Taurus would love that bullet and of course the worthless Bulldog would likely fire or misfire as only it could. Bulldog is s safe queen just because it is not useul for any other purpose.

The Taurus 431 is a great pistola with the sweetest trigger and puts 200 grain cast where ya point them. I guess I need to try some heavier bullets out of that gun and see what it will do with 250 RNFPs and some 429421s.

That's a neat little bullet. I like my 696 but I don't
