your opinion on Colt vs S&W DA .22lr revolvers...
Hey gang,
To start off... a few months ago I came upon a 6 inch Colt Police Positive in .22lr made in 1948 for about $350. The only experience I have with .22lr in revolvers have been with Ruger Single Sixes and Bearcats, and I've had a High Standard Longhorn revolver for about 8 years... I started out back in 1970 with (and don't laugh.. it's all I could afford back then) an RG single action revolver.
I've heard a lot about and praise for the S&W Model 17 or K-22. I was wondering if any of ya'll have had or have experience with the Colt Police Positive in .22lr and how does it compare with the Smith?
Just curiosity... the Colt locks up tight and so far seems to be fairly accurate and serves me well... I would have preferred to have adjustable sights on it but I've learned to shoot with "Kentucky" windage a long long time ago... once I know where the gun and particular ammo hits, I just make allowances for it and go on. so far the bullet placement seems to be to the sights but a bit low... I can adjust for that.. GRIN
So anyway... care to chime in on this one?... GRIN
Thanks,
Don Sikes
