I saw these at a gun show today. I've not had any interest in their previous models but I could see the use in this one for certain people. The .454 of course is presumed to be useful against large dangerous animals, and it seems to me that the .410 could be used in a survival situation to collect small game. So if you were a bush pilot in Alaska, you might have reason to use it for either use.

Whichever, it certainly looks big in person.

If I was a bush pilot I would be interested in a Ruger Alaskan. I also wondered if the Taurus would be effective against small game in a survival situation, maybe if that was all you had. A .22 rifle would be much easier to use.

I've actually handled them and they are just too much.

I agree Rob. Far too heavy and big in the wrong places to carry comfortably but probably not heavy enough when you shoot 454 ammo through it.

I suspect it would keyhole with 454 ammo, like the T/C

45/410 does with any heavy loads of 45 colt.....least mine sure did.

If I was big enough to carry one of those things, I don't think I'd worry about bears.......
