Looking for a few of those 1950/60 sporterization books

that were so popular in the days of abundant MIL-surp rifles. IIRC Tommy Bish, and others like him, had monthly articles on different phases of the work, presented in a fairly low-tech home workshop format, for the hobbiest.

I'm helping out one of the double-gun guys in South America on this. He can obtain mostly old Mausers, and has limited ammo availability and no or little handloading. Roughly, about the same as Paul has reported here over the years, tho each country likely has it's own variations.

I sold the few books I had on the subject several years ago, when it became evident that unaltered MIL-surps were hotting up. And, I only did a few Mausers, anyway. Although, I'm not completely out of Enfield projects yet - but they weren't pristine collectibles when I bought them, anyway. In fact, I still have a pukka sahib stock set I whittled out, still awaiting the right action -- and a solar topee.

Well, anyway...I'd like to round up a coupla three of those paperback or trade books -- grease and bloodstains OK -- if in readable condition. Will send them along to him. Reasonable prices are entertained, so here's my EEEEEEEEEE mail. marshgrrl aht GEE mail daht kom

Thanks to all, and Happy Saturday Night
