OT Mini-Review: Denon D-M39S Micro Component Stereo System
(SPG EDIT)
My 20-year-old, Japan-built, Yamaha micro-stereo recently gave up all the ghost, so it came time to replace it. As an apartment-dweller, my requirements in a stereo system are pretty modest. All I wanted this time around was a CD player, the capacity to play MP3s, decent sound quality, and relatively low cost.
After doing a very small amount of online 'research', I chose the Denon D-M39S Micro Component System,
which I bought for $399.99 (shipped) from Crutchfield.
The bottom line is, I am well satisfied with my purchase. The system has no internet connectivity, but that suits me just fine; if I want to hear something on YouTube, I can still do that on my PC (and would actually prefer to). I put the Denon speakers on a pair of inexpensive fiberboard stands from a local stereo shop, and they sound great. I would recommend the Denon D-M93S, and Crutchfield, to anyone in the market for a stereo system of this type.
