Saw a neat sight today

We worked 3:00-11:00am this morning so I stopped by a pawn shop. On the way home. One of the few I know around that sells guns. They get some Interesting stuff in sometimes so I swing in from time to time. They usually keep the interesting stuff back behind the actual sales rack. Anyways, today he had a near new Winchester 88 in .243. I'm not sure I've handled one in real life and this ine was easily 99%. An odd gun but this one was in great shape!

The coolest one they had was a slightly worn Winchester 54 marked .30Gov't06. The really interesting part of it was the reciever sight. It was a Marbles, which I've never seen before. It had a (kind of large) plate that was screwed to the recievers left side and had a little work gear for elevation adjustment. The windage was taken care of by a little stem that looked like a standard tang sight laid on its side. It was a pretty cool set up and a first one for me! It was a pretty cool set up. My .35 Whelen is nicer and ots up for sale, so I didn't have a good reason to make an offer on it.
