Load Data?
by Charles, Thursday, June 06, 2013, 12:53 (4192 days ago) @ Hoot
I bought some and now need to figure out how to load with the powder I have. The guy selling them suggested AA9 for about 900 fps. I have a little AA9 but not enough to go very far.
I have AA5, Unique, Bullseye and 2400 in abundance. Any suggestions for loading this bullet in either the 38 Special or .357 Magnum cases?
This soft 230 grain WC at 900 fps, should also put a serious hurting on a bad guy. Bigger is always better, but this wouldn't be half bad. Should reach the vitals and do allot of damage on the trip.

I'll have to check with Dad. If I knew the details, it's long forgotten.
Not the same bullet....

....but here is some load data for the Lyman 358627 GC-SWC that I worked up years ago. It weighs 215-220 grains, depending on alloy.
Not the same bullet....

I have a 4 cavity H&G mold for the .357 log, like you said great on pin`s, I use Blue dot. I got to cast up some this summer , I`m just about out of them.
I talked with Dad last night.

He definitely used .357 cases and he believes he used Blue Dot but isn't positive. He wasn't going to guess at the load.
Sorry, not much help.

Hoot, I use Blue dot in 38spl. case`s in a .357mag handgun. I use 7 grains . but I will not give out any advice on how much anybody should use.(:>
