Oddly enough, I'm not much of a 'sci-fi/fantasy' guy

'Oddly', that is, in regard to the 'sci-fi' part: Being a bona fide Retarded Mad Scientist, I used to do it for a living. :-D

Unfortunately, I don't read sci-fi/fantasy novels, either, so that quality of the 'hook' would be lost on me.

The good news is, I 'sampled' LOTR (not sure which one), and just from a glance, the quality of the production was immediately apparent. I'm sure they're very good movies, I just can't get into the subject very much.

If I did, though, I'd be 'plugging' LOTR too. :-D
