358429s come out at 0.368"

Imagine my surprise when I went to run them through the 0.359" sizer

So I have a pile of them cast up with these dimensions (14.5 bhn)if someone has a use for such they are there for lead cost and shipping. 20 some odd lbs of them sure did look good in the pile before I measured them and thought of the time wasted.

Anyone have use for a 4 cavity mold that casts such, let me know before it goes back to Lyman.

No, not my alloy, I cast 25 lbs of 358156s just before these and they are perfect.

Are they round and that far oversize? If not, have a look for anything that might be keeping the blocks from closing completely. You likely know this, but just in case.

Certainly Lyman has been known to goober up a mould somethin' fierce, so I'm not surprised if it is that far oversize.

Unfortunately nice and round.

Not sure how they made a mold so oversized.

I would blame my alloy, but 358156s are perfect sizing only slightly in the 0.359" sizer.

It kills me to melt down so many beautiful projies, but no one seems to have a use for them.

Mold will go back to Lyman hopefully to be replaced.

Louis, that's even too large for .38 Smith&Wesson, isn't it? I think the OLD .38 S&W barrels ran .360-.362. Most made since WW2 have .358 barrels.

I have several .38 S&W revolvers, but I don't shoot reloads in any of the old ones and I think those .368s would be too large anyway.

Tom, want some heavy bullets for your Makarov?

These are WAY too big for Tom's MAK.

Heck the CZ 82s would not even digest them.

I thought someone with a 9.3 would be able to use them as a plinker.

I hate to see all of them melt back down to molten lead, but them the 7mm Mag needs something to shoot also.

Maybe some 200 grain RNFPs for the 44 SPL too
