Knowing Nothing about 1911 or 45 ACP

I ran 25 lbs of lead thru the 190 SWC mold and sized to 0.451" this afternoon.

Now I will wait a couple of weeks for them to settle down . . .

OK, so I will stick 8 in front of 5.0 of Red Dot and shoot them tomorrow just for fun don'tcha know.

I shot 10 (two groups of five) of this load data and pure lead unsized cast last week just to test feed and function.

Wonder if I should ditch that sizing die for .452?

Too bad I don't have a 625 so I wouldn't lose the brass, only found one last week.

I have used 451 and 452 in various 45 ACP 1911's and others over 40+ years. I finally settled on 452 as the best a long tie ago. Really depends on the barrel bore. If the 451's shoot good enough for you, then stick with it, unless you want to buy a 452 and try it. As for the brass, you might try using a large tarp.

Louis, do you still shoot at Owl Hollow, or do you have a range of your own?

If you could use it where you shoot, a cheap metal detector will find most all of them. I sweep my range several times a year and recover almost all my cases.
