There was some discussion on the old Levermatics awhile back. I just saw this one for sale and thought I'd pass it along I case someone has a jones for an odd marlin in an odd caliber!

Marlin Lever-Matic-s

A somewhat cult item among the Lever Guys....,256 & .30 carbine are premiums. A ,22 mag has been traded around among a few of us. Accurate enough for muskrat/rodents at a hundred yards with scope. Present owner keeps his pond clear from the front poach & is loath to part with it.
Owned a 62 in 256Win

It was highly accurate....I used it on gophers 'n prairie poodles a lot. Discovered I prefer my leverguns with hammers so we parted ways. Also had a Ruger Hawkeye in 256...still have 'n shoot a TC 10" in 256. Great cartridge.

That's a very good price for the rifle with the ammo and the extra magazine. If I didn't already have one in that caliber, I'd jump on it.
me too. i have managed to get one in 256, 30 carbine, and

also the 57 in 22 lr and the 57M in 22 mag, and a new in the box model 56 [ not unfired anymore, of course i shoot it ] ; it appears they never produced the promised 22 jet,or the 357. all of these are very accurate, very fast in operation, and utterly reliable for me.
the levermatic design originally came from the Kessler company, who made a 20 gauage levermatic type shotgun [ finally found one for measly 250, unfired. it has been fired now of course ] after Kessler, remington briefly produced the design as the Nylon 76 22lr leveraction. i have a couple of those, and they are neat too.
i think i tend to obsess on things. i did find all of them at really good prices though, and finding them was a fun quest. i still have them and all of them get exercise.
gotta agree with Cable

my 62 in .30Carbine is accurate beyond expectation; somewhere in the nearly cleared out mess I call a shop is a 5 shot group from my handload, measuring just an RCH over an inch!
I have carried it out here for blacktail and would not hesitate on a headshot out to a hunnert yards.

but doesn't look like there is a way for me to contact the seller. I joined the site, but they don't allow PM's from new members and I can't find a direct email address for the seller anywhere.
Would like to find a 256 Win and/or a 22 Jet Marlin, guess not tonight.
I'm interested,

for your efforts. I realized this afternoon at work that I should have just posted to the forum last night. I'll find one sometime, just need to keep my eyes open.
