Bumper-Chrome 1911

had a true bumper chrome 1911 when i was a 2Lt., bought it from my Major who'd had it chromed in VN. after the chrome flaked off the nickel underlay was decent. put in a brand new s&w barrel from the parts bin, new bushing, tightened the rails, etc and shot a decent Xpurt score with it. old guy i knew, probably in his early 40's (!), maxed the course with it, but then, he had a solid gold bolo badge on his dress blues.
