A couple of years I was in a gunslinger school that tried to prepare the majors here in Ft. Leavenworth at the CGSC school to run a M9 on autopilot prior to deployment. Most had been in the military for 15 years or so and many had carried a pistol most of that time even though they had probably fired less than a couple of 100 rounds and could not shoot for beans.
We had a Air Force Warthog pilot in class that stated that he liked his M9 OK but liked the chaingun in his jet more. We all decided that if he ever had to pull the pistol for real he was already well into a very bad day.
