Got Very Lucky Yesterday

Had to leave work early for a doctor's appointment and since one of my two favorite toy dealers is on my way home, I stopped. Lo and behold, sitting on the used shelf was an almost pristine Browning Hi-Power dating to 1972, complete with soft case. I have wanted one of these for a very long time and just missed one at the same dealer last fall. One of the guys behind the counter remembered that and made sure I saw it.

I put a deposit down on it and will pick it up this weekend. Only one magazine, so I need to go looking for another couple. Can't have too many. Guess it means I'll need to order another holster/magazine carrier combo from Simply Rugged, too.

Thank goodness I bought 500 rounds of 9mm at Cabelas last fall and still have most of it left. I will be more careful about picking up the brass when I fire it, though.

There is nothing like a Hi Power

They fit my hand like they were made for it.... The most elegant handgun I have ever found......

Yes, luck has something to do with it. This one model

You are a very luck fellow. I had that same kind of luck at a gun show a few years back, and came away with an ANIB Mark 3 for a very good price. I am the same way about High-Powers - if you don't have one, something's missing in your life.

Thanks to Mark Roberts, mine now wears a beautiful pair of original French walnut grips instead of the black plastic factory panels.
