Am curious regarding condition, any modifications, does it include the magazine, how much?

Well, there's the rub. I'm not certain of anything except

that it is a complete barreled action and I asked specifically about the bottom metal just to be absolutely certain. It is owned by an old family friend (you could call him my "second father"). He wants to move it on and has no use for it. I initially thought it was a complete rifle and was personally interested but I feel a bit conflicted making an offer after trying to give him a value for it. Now that I'm certain it is just a barreled action I doubt I want to do a project. Oh, yes, these are wicked cool rifles. Here's exactly what he said about the rifle.

"...just a barreled action, and is NOT stocked. Besides a cross mark on top of the action, along with a letter and various numbers, there is a proof mark showing a person on horseback on both the barrel and action."

and

"I have a barreled action military rife of ww2 vintage. The action is marked “Breda 1927”. I think it is Italian but it has what appears to be a Swiss mark on the action also. It is in pretty good shape. It has a rotating feed magazine."

He can produce photos if there is genuine interest. I don't think he's yet settled on a price.
