After all the pontificating on AR sights...

I believe I'm gonna leave it alone. My 4X Leupold that's on it (not the best scope for an AR but it works) has been frustrating me with the ocular lens lock nut backing off and then ocular lens flops enough to make a difference in POA. I can tighten the heck out of it and 10 shots later my groups open up and it's loose. That's really the only thing about it that bothers me, so in the spirit of trying to become 100% debt free and if I don't NEED it I'm not buying it, I put some red lok-tite on the threads and I'm calling it good. I have a perfectly good set of back up iron sights mounted on a Marlin Guide Gun that is a fine hunting and "social" rifle in in own right:) If I was in a combat zone I'd be more worried about it. I figure if I change the sights I have to expend precious ammo to sight it in. If I had a spare case of M855 I might consider it but I don't and lately it's not so easy to find.

Ammo expenditure is a big thing to consider right now. If you think that's got the problem fixed, probably best to leave well enough alone. I found out at the fall CSA shoot that red dots don't work well in bright sunlight, so I upgraded the irons on my Mini 14 and replaced the red dot with a 2 1/2 power shotgun scope. Didn't take a lot of shooting to get them zeroed, and the gun is good to go now, but that was before the great panic.

In El Paso in the desert SotuhWest where we have pletny of bright sunlight...EI of 21-2 common as opposed to Michigan where a bright day would be 17-18 EI....I routinely use C-More red dot sights for pistol shootng and have no problems with them at all...they are the 4 minute sight dot and neverf had problem finding them...put the dot on the target and its dead.,...

My eyes have trouble seeing the red dot. Pls explain EI

We are shooting for about 6 years. Good job...it's gonna feel great to hit that goal!

It feels better than great. Believe me.
