Having trouble finding a 24 but then not overly pleased with the front sight...but the 29 with either 6 or 6.5 inch barrel and sights I can change looks great...although only want to shoot Specials...what say you...thanks in advance..

Already have two: 44M and 45LC both great guns...want longer barrrel for shooting jacks and longer range targets....to go with a Marlin 94 44M....

If the extra weight of the 29 or 629 wouldn't matter, why not? There certainly are more around in whatever dash you think is the best. I would load up special-like loads in the magnum cases, though, but that's just me. Since my thumbs can't take magnum loads in .430" revolvers anyway, the special does it, and I'm happy I found my 624. I do like the 6.5" barrel, too.

Yes I recently got a 48 with 6.5 inch barrel and really like that length. Have TC 14 inch in 44 but that seems more like a sawed off rifle than a pistol...have 6.5 inch 44 FT Ruger 50th Anniv....but I shoot my Smith's more accurately for some reason...6 or 6.5 seems right to me...

I like them both I even have a 29-2 with a 24 6.5" barrel on

it. It is one of my very favorite handguns. Like Jerry, I shoot far more mid range and .44 specila loads than heavy .44 mags in my .44s.[image]
