5-Screws, No Waiting...

I usually wait a while (and I might have one or two loose - lol), but this thing is just too cool not to post it up ASAP.

Glen and I completed a deal today, and this is my prize.

Smith & Wesson Combat Masterpiece .38 Special (#K200xxx, ca. 1953)

I hadn't seen anything quite like this for some time and nearly forgot: 'They don't make 'em like they used to.' [image] This thing is absolute proof. [image]

Thanks, Glen!!! [image]

Can you say, 'Relapse'?

by FOG, Friday, January 25, 2013, 20:06 (4266 days ago) @ Glen

I'm sure you can. :-D

Good thing 'It's just what the doctor ordered.' :-)

Glen gets thanks, too...

For helping keep me interested in this, my life-long hobby.

Believe me, that is saying − and more importantly doing − a lot.

Combat Masterpiece

by Charles, Friday, January 25, 2013, 22:01 (4265 days ago) @ FOG

is one of the nicest handguns ever built by Smith and Wesson. Mine is a 1957 vintage.[image]

Nice grips...

by FOG, Friday, January 25, 2013, 22:24 (4265 days ago) @ Charles

The palm swell looks especially right, and the grain is really nice. Very nice gun, of course, too.

I haven't owned but one Combat Masterpiece, and that was a long, long time ago. It's good to
see an 'old friend' again − especially after 33 years.

PS: The Pre-M15 that I had back in 1979-80 was #K106xxx. Believe it or not, I sold it to buy
a stereo (turntable, receiver, speakers).

PPS: The good news is, my priorities haven't changed. Much... :-D

They don't call 'em "Masterpiece" for nothin' ...

by Catoosa, Saturday, January 26, 2013, 09:44 (4265 days ago) @ FOG

I have a much-used M-15 and an almost pristine M-18. If a man only had one handgun to his name, he could do no better than a good Model 15. And I ain't never seen a bad one!

5-Screws, No Waiting...

That thing has a drool factor of 100% and then some.

I picked one up a couple of years back. Like me, it'll never win a beauty contest, but it sure has ridden many miles with me.
