Two scores

I travel a lot for work, 99% of it driving, and I like to go through the small towns and stop at likely looking pawn shops and gun shops. Today it paid off.

The first thing to catch my eye was a very clean Remington 788. Not perfect, it has a few small handling dings in the wood, but the gun looks like its been fired very little, the bluing isn't even worn on the bolt lugs. It's a long barrel 788 in 22-250, and I've been thinking about getting another varmint rifle.

Then I saw the real prize, a 3 screw Blackhawk, 4 5/8 inch, in .45 Colt. Unconverted with a little blue wear at the muzzle, and otherwise in very good condition. Action is extremely smooth with a great trigger, I think this one has been tuned. The previous owner must have had poor vision, he used red and white paint on the wights to make a kind of poor man's express sights. I'm confident the paint can be removed.

Total was $700 out the door for both of them.

I'll get some pics taken when I get back home.
