"There must be 50 ways to lose your shooter"
Buddy of mine who grew up in West Tennessee found a rusted Cooper DA revolver in his daddy's hog lot. Not US or Confederate issue, but some Yankee officers purchased them privately.
We figured some northern gentleman must of lost it when some of Bedford Forrest's boys shot him off his horse......
