...bought a 1955 Ford F100 pickup truck!
Ever since I knew what a truck was, I was drawn to the beautiful voluptuous curves of the '55 F100 (I've always been a beautiful voluptuous curves kinda guy!). A few of you know about my near-miss on a RARE '55 Custom Cab V-8 Fordomatic in Da UP (eh?) a couple of years ago, and how I've lost sleep over it ever since - well, I finally got to begin scratching that itch!
Anyway, this one's a straight-six Custom Cab - needs work, but it's very solid, and I got it at a good price. Let the restoration begin!
Looks like it is in really good shape, good find...Now have

i got one like the second one at a gunshow, [ was gonna show u but cant find it]
Very neat! I want a pre-Civil War fusee pretty badly...
by Boge Quinn, Monday, December 10, 2012, 13:24 (4368 days ago) @ cable
...but I'm not spending that kind of money right now unless it's a deal I REALLY can't pass up. Got a truck restoration to fund! I'm even going to have to slow my roll on buying guns. Maybe.
i know. i got my watch [ even has the papers in it , 1828 ]
by cable, Monday, December 10, 2012, 13:47 (4368 days ago) @ Boge Quinn
for $350; he really wanted to make a sale at the end of the show and had been asking 550 i recall. i could resist at that point.
when i find it again, will post pictures.
hope you are going to make that truck look the same or better than when it left the factory!
That would qualify as a deal you can't pass up! (nm)

And what's that lurking behind it, deep in the garage??
That's a '56 F100 - I could have gotten it...
by Boge Quinn, Monday, December 10, 2012, 15:47 (4368 days ago) @ Kentucky
...but it had a chopped top. Not for me!
That's a nice truck
by Jhenry, Monday, December 10, 2012, 16:10 (4368 days ago) @ Boge Quinn
But those older short stepsides won't fit as many migrants in the back as the late 60's trucks.
Maybe that's why you don't see 'em so often...
by Boge Quinn, Monday, December 10, 2012, 16:14 (4368 days ago) @ Jhenry
...with hydraulics under 'em, jumpin' up and down at red lights!
UNNNH HUNH!...

That's a good 'un, Boge.
Back in the early '60s a guy I worked with had one like that. He had reworked it thoroughly, leaded the frame, and put a big V8 in it. That thing was rank! I rode with him a time or two on those east Tennessee mountain roads. No other pickup in the county could stay with it.
I did a 56.

Back in my gearhead days, I did a 56. I liked the overhead body lip over the windshield on the 56. It was pristine gloss black, and I did yellow-to-orange-to red flames on it. It did turn some heads.:) I had a stock 272, and three on the tree, and drove it daily for several years. Unfortunately, I gave away all my car pics, and don't have one to share.
The aftermarket guys make every part you might need for it in repop, all you need is a checkbook.:) Google to gitchee a fat catalog for an outhouse wishbook. Have fun, those are the most beautimous pickups ever made by anybody.

Jack, I heartily agree! (nm)
