Spring CSA traffic advisory

We were stuck on the interstate at Brinkley, Ar (I40) for 2 1/2 hours. We were detoured off of the interstate for construction at the White River bridge on our way to Texas last week. It was supposed to have been just down to one lane. This mess is supposed to continue through next year. You should probably consider an alternate way to get to Little Rock other than I40 if you are coming from the east.

WHAT other way? :-D I've been down I-40 MANY times to

Little Rock. It has needed work for years. BUT, there aren't a lot of alternatives, at least I don't remember any other than a stretch of US 70 (or is it 78?). The rest is many twists and turns.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of options ...

... not too many bridges across the Mississippi. There are exactly two bridges that cross the river at Memphis, I-40 and I-55. And they come together as I-40 just a few miles into Arkansas.

The next bridge to the south is on Hwy 49 and crosses at Helena, AR.

To the north you've got to go all the way to Missouri before there is another bridge.

through I55 just west of Memphis then 64 and 67/167

Into Little Rock (through Searcy). Not the greatest way but it beats stuck on the interstate.I would definitely suggest at least checking ArDOT before you come.

If you have an iphone, there is a free app calles waze that helps keep up with traffic.
