Way off topic - needing new tires

Got to do some tire shopping and need some insight. Have Goodyear Wranglers on my Chevy Silverado right now and only got a year out of them. I drive a lot of gravel. Any ideas?

They are spendy, but I really like the BFG All-Terrains. YMMV

I've had a coue sets of BFG All terrain T/A's. they get good traction and last a long time for me. My brother has had very good luck on his F150 with Goodyear Wranglers. The BFG's have a more aggressive tread but aren't too loud on the road.

Yokamana's have a harder compound than most....if I drove gravel roads most times I'd have them. However Michilens are what I run....they last several years and handle just as well when worn out as when new. Great road tire.

I had wranglers with the same results. I don't drive a lot of gravel but the wore out quick.

Those gravel roads and flint are tough on tires I hear. When turkey hunting the flint hills the locals tell how it used to be with flats until they improved the roads. Do you have the same problems.

I don't usually have flats with these newer tires...just wear out quick. I'm lucky if I get more than a year on a set. My wife has a Honda CRV that uses some weird tire size and seems like I'm always changing flats for her. They just don't make tires tough enough for these areas and since we can no longer use river gravel due to some endangered species in the Neosho and Cottonwood they use local dry land rock which is nasty stuff, makes the dust a lot worse too.

Neosho and Cottonwood rivers? Sounds like SE Kansas to me. My wife is from Chanute.

My office is in Emporia. I live in the Hills on the Lyon/Chase County line.

Our daughter lives in Auburn, just south of Topeka.

When my wife and I were dating, she lived in Topeka. I'd avoid the turnpike and drive through Auburn. Had a really nice gunshop there I always stopped at to drool.

We switched to Bridgestone

My wife's Grand Cherokee came with Wranglers. When those wore out we put Bridgestones on it and they lasted a long time.

I use to run about a set a year of BF Goodrich all terrain myself,,Since they changed to the KO series they are not worth a darn in my opinion. Was a Fan since early 1980,s...Switched to the below tire last year and have 35,000 miles on them now with hardly any noticably wear.

Very low noise like a Michelin, and still pull good off road. I am in and out of four wheel drive many times a month so they are not highway babied.

Worth checking into in my opinion.
