A little sad news

by Catoosa, Thursday, November 22, 2012, 19:48 (4366 days ago)

Lost my buddy yesterday. Riggs had been going downhill pretty steadily for the last couple of months. He was 12 1/2 years old, and that's pretty old for a German Shepherd. I was beginning to be concerned about having to put him down, and didn't know if I could do it. That would have been about the hardest thing I had ever done.

Found him in his pen yesterday morning. Looks like his heart just gave out. We had him cremated (local funeral home does pets, too - we is country folks up here!) and I'm gonna bury him up on the slope above my range so he can watch me shoot like he always used to do.

Miss the hell out of him already.

Sorry to hear that. The ONLY fault dogs have is that they live relatively short lives.

Sorry to hear of that. Dogs are special...nt

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Show me a man that doesn't like dogs, and I'll have to wonder whats wrong with the fella.

sorry for you loss. Im one that thinks of my dog like i do my son. It will be a heart wrenching day when i have to put him down or find him dead. I told my wife i want him cremated and his ashes saved and burried in the same box as mine.

So sorry for your loss....

They will live in our hearts, but their mortal presence

by John Meeker, Friday, November 23, 2012, 07:48 (4365 days ago) @ Catoosa

but their mortal presence is missed in ways that linger. Our dogs will always be in the 'the pack', tho we can no longer touch them. Our condolences on the passing of friend.

My heartfelt sorry for your loss, been there too many times
