The largest employer in my berg is closing. Hostess is liquidating and the local plant is shutting down. Union strike was part of the problem but poor management at the corporate level was certainly to blame too. This place has become nothing more than a rest stop on I-35. There's hardly any business left. When I came here to practice in 1992 there were a number of industries employing thousands. None of them are here any longer. I can't leave but there is certainly nothing to keep my kids around here when they are ready to fly the coop.
