Not the best pic, but it'll have to do...

Custom Combat Commander by Steve Nastoff

Major 'Unseen' Details
• Base Gun DOB/Colt-Factory-Build-Date was in the 1970s
• Hard-fitted Bar-Sto barrel
• 'Swensonesque' barrel positioner opposite ejection port
• Peened-and-lapped slide-frame fit
• Hand-swaged/formed mag well

History ("Nastoff's .45 Shop" and Beyond...)
• The gun is fully-documented
• The hand-written "build sheet" is two carbon-copy receipts long
• The original envelope it was mailed in is postmarked July 1990
• The bill for the work - minus the base gun - was $3363.00 (!)
• The gun was in the collection of the famous pistolsmith, Richard Heinie, for many years

Background Props (L to R)
• Randall #1-8 (ca. 1980s)
• RayBan Shooting Glasses (ca. 1940s)
• Milt Sparks Summer Special (ca. 1980s)

Misc
I changed a few small parts to better suit my taste (trigger, mag catch, MSH pin, grip screws), but of course I kept the originals for posterity.

:-)

I reserve the "Three Vs" for the best, of which this is a fine example.

Quality shows and quality lasts - great gun.

I like it very much, but I would have to install an arched mainspring housing. They don't point right for me, if they don't have one.

I got this off of Gunbroker this year. I think it was done years ago. The hard chrome feels velvety smooth. Nastoff must have seen mine and had to reproduce it. Ok, maybe not. I really like mine, though. You would have to love yours.
