Ruger Scout Rifle Magazines (reply)

The five shot sticks out about an inch, about even with the trigger guard. It does not seem to be in the way when slung. I don't have the 3 round version. The new plastic mags seem to be even smoother in operation than the metal ten round that came with the rifle.

Good to know, stonecold. I'm thinking about some more mags for mine, and maybe a 3 rounder, especially if it fits flush with the stock. That would make it a lot easier to carry slung on the shoulder. If necessary, the 10 rd mag will be close to hand somewhere.

I just got in two Ruger plastic magazines for my Scout Rifle from Midway. They are a 5 round and a 10 round. Both work great. This is a really nice handling little rifle. I put a Burris 2.75 extended eye relief scope on mine. It seems to work fine. Field of view is not great on forward mounted scopes, but shooting with both eyes open is very easy and makes up for it.
