Very interesting. How available are the primed cases? I assume since they are Russian, at present, it’s not an option. are they flared to accept the bullet?

What is your ‘crimping tool’? Looks like an old Lyman tong tool almost. Looks like it has heel based molds built into it? Is there load data out there for 22 lr if you wanted to experiment at all?

At the Range I pick up all the unfired .22's that I find laying around. Over the past years I have found hundreds. Most are just dropped accidentally. Some are snapped on and did not fire. Others are beat up.

I have a tool I made to pull 7.62x54R bullets and found that it works pretty well for pulling the .22 bullets.

Instead of pulling the bullet with the tool like the .30 caliber jacketed stuff, I use it to carefully mash the cartridge on the heel of the .22 bullet. I try not to get the heel too small or you cannot re-crimp it.

I have quite a few primed .22 Long Rifle cases .. these are Russian manufacture.

I dump the powder charge from the bad case into the new Russian case.

Then I push the old bullet into the Russian case and crimp it.

Now it's ready to fire.
