I Believe It Was 1962 When Winchester Ran A Nation-wide Ad (reply)

I ended up with an original copy of that some years ago. My wife somehow stole it from me without me noticing and had it professionally framed. It’s a definite keeper now!

I Believe It Was 1962 When Winchester Ran A Nation-wide Ad

It was titled "19 Texas Rangers and Only 18 Winchesters - Why?." The ad said something about how the lone guy with the Krag bolt action wasn't armed as well as the others and looked a bit worried .. or something close to that. (he's the 5th guy from the right)

Then it turned out that the photo was actually the Arizona Rangers and was taken during a strike in Morenci, Arizona.

As an apology Winchester offered a free print of the photo to everyone who asked for it. I sent a request and got my copy of the photo. I put it on a board so I could hang it above my desk.

That was over 60 years ago. I am not sure what became of it, but I still have a photo of that photo!

I am sure the old Krag was as good a firearm as any of the Winchesters. I doubt the man using it felt like he was lacking anything.
