<title>Saw this one myself (reply)</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>LGS had mildly optioned pre 98 1886 come in for appraisal.</p>
<p>It was a pistol gripped checkered octagonal barreled .45-70. Factory sling swivels. Fairly  figured wood. The shop called it 85-90%, a clean rifle which had been used.</p>
<p>The kicker was, and it was lettered for this: It was special ordered to be stocked with wood supplied by the first owner himself, and grown on the family property. It was, this around 10 years ago, still owned by descendants of that first owner, and was within 10 miles of that original homestead, and the burial site of that owner.</p>
<p>I never knew the name of the current owner, nor where in Missouri they lived, beyond the Ozarks.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>i have a couple of old originals that do handle them.   my brownchester/ miroku will handle them as well, but that was after a throating job, that was pretty simple. </p>
<p>bullet shape may make a difference of course.</p>
