Bear in mind . . . (reply)

. . . that many of the limited number of New Cats that were shipped with the extra WMR cylinder had those cylinders returned to the factory as the result of a recall by Ruger. Those guns still having their magnum cylinders are big with the collectors and bring considerable money.

I don't think you can wear a Ruger 22 revolver out (reply)

Your thoughts on Ruger Bearcat to be shot a lot (reply)

I'm noticing a lot more .22 WRF ammo on the market recently. It's a dandy round for a handgun, and shoots well in .22 Magnum cylinders. Not nearly as loud and nasty as the magnum, but significantly more juice than the .22 long rifle. The .22 WRF should be a real winner in a Bearcat, with the maggie available should the need for more power arise.

CCI has a .22 WRF load with a 45 grain JHP that is great in my cobbled-up Single-Six.

Your thoughts on Ruger Bearcat to be shot a lot

Hi -

I know I can count on y'all to tell me to buy it ; )

I've noticed some quality improvement over the years with CNC machining and the like.

This Bearcat will be shot a lot. I've got 4 kids, grandchild on the way, and always have 22 ammo on hand. So no collector piece is in the running. Accuracy and reliability being the top concerns. I can work on them but preffer shooting.

So I find myself mildly torn between the old and new models. The new ones sure are nice. I can see myself sending it right back to get a cylinder fitted and reeming the factory cyl.

I'm really enjoying the Ruger flat top convertible you folks talked me into ; )

Thanks,
Mike
